First Day on the Ride Home

We left our temporary home in Los Altos this morning and traveled to Winnemucca, Nevada.  The ride was both stunning and boring.  We drove up through Sacramento and hit the Sierras.  

The drive was so beautiful. We then drove through Donner Pass.  I am getting so good at driving through long windy roads.  Just practicing for the Rocky Mountains.  

We took a side trip to Lake Tahoe.  I think we should rent a house there next summer. 

Kurt and Gwenny wanted to go boogey boarding, but I was in a hurry to get back on the road.

The dull part of our drive was when we hit the desert.  We turned to a Stephen King novel that we had on our ipod to keep us entertained. There is something so creepy about driving through a desert area listening to a Stephen King novel, even a bad one.  Our day ended in Winnemucca, Nevada.  Today we drove through Reno, 5 weeks ago we spent the night in Los Vegas, but only the Kroebers would decide to do a little gambling in Winnemucca!  

We didn't win big, but we had a spectacular day.
