Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon

I am amazed at the beauty in this country! Yesterday we visited Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon, and they were overwhelming. On our way there we did pass through another fun town to live in... we actually had cowboy coffee there...yes, cowboy coffee in Virgin, Utah! It was only 107 degrees. It was hot but not like at home. We went from one extreme to another...from Las Vegas where nothing is real to God's country where it doesn't get any more beautiful. My friend Pam even climbed over a fence to collect a rock for my collection. Kurt also loved to get real close to the edge of the world. Very scary. We ate dinner at a rustic little place called The Thunderbird Restaurant in Mt. Carmel. Their claim to fame is that they are "Home to the Ho-Made Pies." We asked if we could actually see the Ho's making the pies. I am not sure if they thought it was funny as we did (okay..we didn't actually say it so the waitress could hear us.) Kurt then had a Utah beer called Polygamy Porter. He asked our waitress if in fact it was made in Utah. "Of course," she answered. Good thing that the people in Utah have a good sense of humor.
